#DanceforTrail is a Bharatanatyam recital held on behalf of Trail with all the funds raised going towards the construction of a cancer treatment facility at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle. The event will take place on the 13th of August at the New Kathiresan Hall.

Dhakshayini Jayarajah has been passionate about dancing since she was a child. She started Bharatanatyam when she was 5 years old and has been dancing ever since. Her Arangetram was held in 2008 but Dhakshi still takes classes under the Bharatanatyam guru Mrs. Shivanandi Haridharshan of Nirthana Dance School.

Having attended Holy Family Convent and Ladies’ College, Dhakshi then went on to get a degree in Fashion Design. Her true passion however will always be dancing; her love for the art and its required elegance and precision is unmatched.

Dhakshi is dedicating her performance to her uncle, Mr. M. Balasubramaniam, and is donating to Trail in memory of him. Upon hearing about Trail and its efforts to collectively drive Sri Lanka’s fight against cancer, she was determined to use her exceptional talent as a platform to raise funds for Trail. Thus, #DanceforTrail was brought to life – a unique fundraising initiative that gives Dhakshi the opportunity to do what she does best in aid of Trail.

We greatly appreciate all the hard work and enthusiasm shown by Dhakshi and the Nithyakalyani Jewellery family and we look forward to watching her incredible performance!
